A major producer of household goods, food and personal care products, healthcare and industrial supplies, Colgate-Palmolive was the 8th biggest plastic polluter in 2019 and the 2nd biggest in Africa.
Our analysis shows the company’s commitments to tackling plastic pollution to be sparse. They have a target of 25% recycled content in their packaging by 2025, but aside from this their focus appears to be on lightweighting a limited range of products in a few geographies, and on select innovations for their toothpaste tubes.
