A game of cat and mouse

Kenya is suffocating in plastic waste, most of it pushed by companies looking to grow in Africa.

This deluge of plastic products is causing severe harm to communities saddled with a double burden of mountains of waste and the toxic fallout of backyard burning.

The Kenyan government has made bold moves in banning plastic bags and a limited ban on single-use plastics. Meanwhile, we see how Coca-Cola – despite its recent U-turn in support of DRS in Western Europe – is still up to its old tricks of fighting against DRS in Kenya.
